About the Circle

- - - - -

Move along the edges and
raise Voices within the province,
to hallow the compass between Realms.

Once, twice, thrice about
to forge the boundary strong,
rendered safe for thy bidding,
unprofaned from the untame.

Rouse thy Covenants,
the hidden energies and elemental forces;
summon thy strength and will
to Manifest form unto the ambitions.

Once, twice, thrice unfurled
to Convey the power forth into the ether.

So shall it be done.

Common during spellwork is the casting of the ritual circle. It creates a safe environment in which to work by providing protection from any unwanted outside influences. It holds the energy raised by the magick performed until it is complete.

Working within a circle helps to focus attention and intention, especially when there is more than one participant, so always be mindful of the purpose of the ritual or spellwork to be done when casting the circle.

An established circle is not a captive space. Those inside of it are not forced to remain within the boundary but may pass freely in and out of the circle. Invited powers may similarly move freely through the space as magick is being performed. When the circle is created with a specific intent, only those powers best suited to assist and protect may enter.

At the conclusion of the spellwork, the ritual circle must be released. This hands the powers and energies within the circle over to Nature so the magick may properly manifest. Avoid leaving an active circle empty or unattended indefinitely.
