Effective Magick
- - - - -
Effective Witchcraft and magick,
demanding consistent effort and practice,
make not a whim to affect achievement.
Much trial and error,
revealing the Voice of the witch,
the unique means of communing with Nature,
required to achieve the highest yield.

The guidelines given here do not create an automatic formula for magickal success but rather serve as suggestions to keep in mind for improving the odds of fulfillment. They are not absolute; do what feels right for the working at hand.
Mind the Athiccan Rede.
Do no harm. Perform no spell over another without prior permission and consent.
Be precise.
Say what is meant and mean what is said.
When possible, keep it short and simple.
Do not obfuscate the intention.
Cast the spell for the desired result, not how it will manifest.
Nature will figure out how to make it so.
Be objective, not subjective.
Instead of positive or negative (which are subjective), use descriptions such as welcome or unwelcome, correct or incorrect, necessary or unnecessary.
Handwrite any written parts of a spell.
To avoid misunderstandings, write legibly with correct spelling and use clear grammar and punctuation.
For spoken spells, compose the spell in advance and recite it aloud.
Tone and inflection are more important than volume.
Focus on quality of magick over quantity of spells.
Excessive or forced magick can become muddied and then less effective. Take the time to recharge when necessary.
Do not expect every spell to work.
It will happen if it is proper.
Do not limit the timeframe of a spell.
It will happen when it is proper.
Do not be afraid of working a spell.
Fear can inhibit success, and a spell must be cast before it can manifest.
It is better to act with magick than to react with magick.
It is better to maintain something than to fix it.
